HAHAHAHAHAHEYEYAHAHEYHAHE...FINISHED MY FINAL ESSAYS FOR FILM....WITH 4 MINUTES TO SPARE
I FEEL GREAT...LIKE A GOD....ONE WHO NEEDS TO REST THEIR WRISTS BUT A GOD NONETHELESS!!!
i just have one more exam (more of a portfolio really) i gotta do and then i am FREE lala is LIBERATED for the semester!!!
on that note: comedy was really interesting to learn about (and i think! i understand a lot more why i gravitated towards parody films, even now that i'm older, and understand why some film's didn't necessarily sit well with me) and how comedy's not really a genre mainly because comedy is...everywhere? like even in small slips or in the ways that audiences react to things, comedy can be found, so it's interesting to note that while, yes, you can "label" films as part of the comedy genre, it's really similar to how film noir is more of a style than a genre (unlike neo-noir which is conscious of the style and purposely replicates historical films noirs!) and it's just more of a label categorization thing
also really excited that my next film in context class is going to be about queer readings! then i'll have met the required credits for film in context classes but... i want to see if i can try to slip in the musical context and make up and hair class also because it's just really interesting learning about all the little details people put in... like i remember my professor mentioning that, i believe it was the costume designer for the 80s' version of the postman always rings twice, that they pulled inspiration for cora's dress from opera singers because they found cora's position to be very sympathetic and tragic like those figures (if im remembering her words right) and i just love knowing that because honestly yeah, cora's character god there's so much to examine there (and ofc the director just made some kinda crass remarks but this is why films are!! group projects!!)
