director power and knightly kisses parte uno
i will come back with parte dos to elaborate on my thoughts but real quick because i am thinking about them:
1) Power of Directors
i started watching the anime adaptation of this manga that i like and i kid you not i was super confused because it was like i don't remember any of this.... did i read a different series what is going on and no it's just that they adapted it diff for the anime medium which is cool
And Yet
here is where i shall Discuss the director Powers involved (it could also be like the scenario planners work in addition to some other things or just trying to make sure they had enough material to fit in a time slot) but.... it.... oh it makes a Huge difference when you switch around the pacing of something and it just ends up making emotional impacts cheaper, like the director of Gundam 00 kisses beautiful sexy work going on there (actually tempted to do some episode breakdown analysis because there's just....so much going on it's beautiful;;;) but for this anime... it's like.... it just made it more generic and almost cheap? like the manga isn't the most original in the first place but it still has this charm to it, but the way the anime changed around some plot points and pacing in order to "up the tragedy" makes it feel kinda weaker in my opinion? But more on that Later
2) Knightly Kisses
i've been re-watching the ff8 opening over and over again for, ahem, Secret Reasons and i keep thinking about the fact that seifer doesn't mark squall with the intent to kill him, just mark him.... like... i'm sure seifer could have easily stretched the gun blade out a bit more and done some Super serious damage but he just kinda grazes (well, a bit more than graze, have to make sure the mark lasts yknow) squall's face.... seifer do u realize what this means???? do you?????
u have 2 marry him
ofc it could also be because of other things that i'm not aware of im sure (like u probably won't pass the exam if u kill ur classmate seifer, that's bad manners!) but even looking back at the prison scene the way seifer's hand like briefly helps steady squall and then the quick cradle of the chin before staring at squall's face for a good second before he sends him flying.... wow seifer.... u're pretty romantic huh?? you'd probably lose ur mind over enchanted
BUT I AM JUST THINKING OF THEM....with the knowledge that i've learned i am just thinking of them.... seifer what does this boy mean to you??? u dualed with him before ur first date... what would the knights of round say about that...
on a side note, i've been considering consolidating the social media accounts that i have rn, like, i don't really get on them too long in the first place, and i have them more to kinda just keep in touch with friends on the diff platforms but (lays down) they are also just kinda there so it just seems a bit silly to have them.... but who knows what i'll do!
